The Villars 24h00 race

|
The 9th Edition of the Villars 24h00 race took place this weekend. The purpose of this adventure of 24 hours on skies is to raise money for charities. And this year Disability Snowsport, “league Vaudoise contre le cancer” and the “European Organisation for Research and treatment of cancer” are the charities chosen by the Comity.
We had the great surprise and joy to have a Pre-Fleuri team to take part in this event. Thanks to the initiative of some parents, at the last minute, a team was constituted. In it, 2 generations took part (several parents, a grand-dad). They brave the cold and tiredness and after 469 km on skis (100 km less than the best team). Out of 112 teams, taking part in the event, they managed to arrive 33rd! As with regards to the funds raised they have place themselves in the top 10 best fund-raisers.
The children of Pré-Fleuri, were present to welcome warmly after their incredible performance the families Tuffley, Anton-Smith, Gardner, Baxby and especially Mr Richard Pears (73 years old) for his courage in taking part in this challenging event.

This year, the Round the World Meal will take place on Friday 29th January.

At 9,12 am on wednesday 16th September 2009 Annwenn CABAS was born, weighing 4,080 kilos and measuring 51 cm long.

The boarders began this first term with cultural visits (the Army Museum, the St Bernard Museum...) and sports (walking, football, ice skating...).
